NICO MANNION BREAKS 2,000 CAREER POINTS

University of Arizona commit Nico Mannion quietly passed the 2,000 career point mark in a 35 point outburst against Brophy Prep Tuesday night in the 6A quarterfinals. The Pinnacle reclassified senior has 2,019 points.

 

ROBERT BURRIES RECORD

Globe standout Robert “BJ” Burries ended his career with a state-record 3,387 career points, 233 points ahead of the field.

 

CAVINDER TWINS CLIMBING THE LADDER

Haley Cavinder scored 25 points against Horizon in the 5A semifinals Monday night to give the Gilbert senior 2,271 career points. She needs to score 24 points in the 5A state championship game to break into the top 10 all-time to match 2,295 from former Scottsdale Christian standout Wendy Woudenberg (2001-2005).

Hanna Cavinder has 2,179 career points, putting her in the top 20 after she scored 17 against Horizon.
