Opening day of the Lancer Baseball Classic is in the books with 11 games scheduled for Tuesday at the Reid Park Annex, home of the University of Arizona baseball team. The tournament features teams from Arizona, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Pusch Ridge scored seven runs in the top of the seventh to beat Empire 7-4. Down 4-0 with two outs and one on, the Lions got things started with a walk issued to Isaac Rolon to put two runners on in the top of the seventh. Mathew Weber followed with an RBI single to bring in Logan Brown. Brown led the inning off with a single but back-to-back strikeouts caused concern.

Ryan Garcia singled to load the bases and then Robert Summerville knocked in a run to make it 4-2. Alessandro Castro came up with a grand slam to put Pusch Ridge up 6-4. Zach Vincent followed that with a walk and then Brown singled to put two on. Nick Urias reached on an error to load the bases again and the Josiah Noller picked up an RBI on a bases-loaded walk to put Pusch Ridge up 7-4.

Rio Rico scored one run in the bottom of the first and the run held up for the 1-0 victory over Mountain View. Frank Silva knocked in Saul Sedano. Sedano reached on a leadoff walk, stole second and moved to third on a balk where Silva brought him in on a ground out.

Canyon del Oro standout Jayden Bracy went 2-4 with 6 RBI to pace the Dorados over Rincon/University 22-1. Kiki Romero went 2-3 with 3 RBI and Andrew Stucky had 3 RBI.

Alec Larson went 2-4 with a double and a triple to pace Catalina Foothills past Cholla 11-1 in five innings. Larson had 4 RBI and Chase Gorman had 3 RBI.
