Division I state track and field preview
May 1, 2019 by Les Willsey, AZPreps365
Team title races at the 2019 Division I state track and field meet this week likely seem headed for recent repeats.
Chandler girls with top-flight athletes in the bulk of the events should be a shoo-in for state title No. 13 in the last 14 years and a fourth in a row. On the boys side, like last year, Desert Vista and Chandler should duke it out with perhaps Highland's distance talent leading to points for at least a top-five finish. Desert Vista and Chandler have won the last four team titles -- two each. Desert Vista is the defending champ.
Events play out Wednesday May 1 for D-I with lane-event prelims along with some finals at Mesa Community College, the annual home of state meets for Divisions I through IV.
