Xavier Prep senior Ashley Menne qualified for the 71st U.S. Girls’ Junior Amateur by shooting a 4-under-par 68 at the Alta Mesa Golf Club on June 26. Kendall Todd of Goodyear shot a 69 to claim the second spot and incoming Red Mountain freshman Kailani Deedon came in with a 71 to take the third qualifying spot.

Becca Tschetter of North Dakota tied Deedon and she will also advance. Xavier senior Millburn Ho (72) and June Song of Australia (72) are the alternates from the Arizona qualifier.

Chaparral standout Grace Summerhays qualified on June 25 at the Utah qualifier with a 3-over 75 at the Hidden Valley Country Club. Summerhays took second, two shots behind Tess Blair of Utah. All qualifying ended on Tuesday, July 2.

The U.S. Girls’ Junior will be held in Stevens Point, Wisconsin from July 22-27.

Menne joined Xavier/Horizon standout Grace Park and former Xavier standout Heather Farr as the only golfers in Arizona history to win three state championshps after she held off Summerhays 141 to 143 at the Division I state championshp held at the Omni Tucson National last October.
