Concussion Legacy Foundation asks student-athletes to 'Speak Up' regarding concussions

#TeamUpSpeakUp encourages coaches and athletic directors to give a simple speech to their student-athletes, asking them to Speak Up if they think a teammate might have a concussion. Continuing to play with a concussion increases a student-athlete’s risk for a longer recovery, Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS), and Second Impact Syndrome. But why do we need Team Up Speak Up? Why aren’t student-athletes reporting their own concussions?

Participating in National Team Up speak Up Week Sept. 8-14 can be as simple as reviewing the documents below and taking the pledge. Arizona is one of at least 11 state associations participating in this endeavor.
