Ironwood Ridge seeds 8 in top-4 of D-II wrestling tourney

Defending champion Ironwood Ridge brings eight top-4 seeds to Friday and Saturday's Division II state wrestling tournament at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.
Marcos de Niza and Sunrise Mountain are the next closest in terms of top-4 seeds. Each has five. Marcos de Niza was runner-up last year to Ironwood Ridge. Sunrise Mountain did not crack the top 10 in the tournament in 2011, but looks to contend this year
.
Six individual champions return looking for repeats led by Ironwood Ridge's Connor Buette and Tate Sandifer; Marcos de Niza's Jesse Morales, Gila Ridge's Kevin Jumbeck, Glendale High's Michael Holwell and Shadow Mountain's Luke Braun.
Wrestling begins Friday at 11:15 a.m. with championship round one, championship round two and consolation round one. It resumes on Saturday at 10 a.m. with consolation round two, championship semifinals and consolation rounds three and four. The championships and medal rounds begin at 4 p.m.
