Greenway baseball continued its winning ways this week, finishing its tournament, the 21-team Greenway Festival, as the only undefeated team.

Because some of the out of state teams in the tournament are only allowed to play a certain amount of games by their state associations, a Greenway Festival champion wasn’t crowned. Every team in the tournament played six games.

Greenway’s 10-1 win over Colorado Cherokee Trails Friday wrapped up a 14-day stretch in which Greenway played and won 12 games. The Phoenix squad is 20-1 and has not lost since its third game of the season.

Greenway junior Tyler Frost has struck out 40 batters and not given up an earned run this season in 26 innings. He’s also batting .409, with a team-high four homers.

Junior Payton Squier is batting .538 (35 for 77) and has a 19-game hitting streak. Greenway’s tough schedule will continue when it faces a highly ranked Division II foe, Liberty, on Tuesday.
