The top volleyball invitational this week takes place in southern Arizona where Marana Mountain View High hosts its annual Lion's Den Invitational on Friday Oct. 11 and Saturday Oct. 12.

Twenty of the 24 teams entered are from Tucson or southern Arizona locales. Heading the list of entries are Division II schools Camp Verde High, currently ranked No. 5 and Tucson High (7th). Two more are in the top 15 -- Salpointe (No. 10) and Kofa (No. 15). Top entries from small schools are Blue Ridge (No. 8, D-III), Payson (No. 15, D-III) and Willcox (No. 15, D-IV).

The rest of the field: Amphitheater,Buena, Catalina Foothills, Catalina, Cesar Chavez, Cholla, Cienega, Flowing Wells, Marana Mountain View, Nogales, Pueblo, Sabino, Sahuarita, Sahuaro, Sunnyside, Vista Grande and Walden Grove.
