Hamilton's Burke, Tempe Prep and Boulder Creek coaches on radio show

Kyeler Burke reached up to the heavens and had his prayer answered.

The Hamilton receiver jumped up and somehow hauled in a pass on a 4th and 19 play between two defenders to help set up Hamilton’s game-winning 29-yard field goal in Friday’s dramatic 37-35 road victory over Pinnacle.

"At first I thought (quarterback James Sosinski) over threw me, but I just turned on the jets and made a play," Burke said.

Pinnacle rallied from a 34-7 third quarter deficit, scoring 28 unanswered points to grab a 35-34 lead with 3:30 remaining in the game.

But Burke’s catch and Dylan Brown’s field goal helped Hamilton retake the lead with 37.2 left in the game. But with Michigan State-bound quarterback Brian Lewerke in the pocket, that’s plenty of time for the Pinnacle senior to work some magic.

And he almost pulled a victory out, but Lewerke just over threw receiver Adam Turner on a deep pass rout that had touchdown written all over it.

Turner had a step on his defender on the 1st and 10 play from Pinnacle’s 48-yard line. On the final play of the game, Pinnacle’s final pass attempt was broken up.

Burke is schedule to be interviewed at 9:45 Saturday during the AZPreps365 radio show on 98.7 F.M. The show starts at 9 a.m.
