Tucson Cholla hosted Tucson Salpointe, Oro Valley Canyon del Oro and Nogales Tuesday at the historic El Rio Golf Course in Tucson in the final few days of the regular season. Salpointe pulled off the victory with a score of 147 to CDO's 149 with Nogales scoring a 182 and Cholla a 229.

Lancer junior Derek Lozier shot a 34 on the par 35 course to take first place. He was followed by his teammate Trevor Werbylo (36) and CDO's Trevor Gregoire (36).  Chris Meyers did not golf for the Dorados in this match.

Lozier is currently ranked 31st in the state and he has seen his game come to where he needs it to be. "I started out pretty well," explained Lozier.

"I had a couple of weeks where I posted some high rounds but I'm slowly getting back to where I wanted to be. I changed my driver and that seemed to help," he added.

The Lancers play in the most difficult section in Division II along with Catalina Foothills and Canyon de Oro. Still, Lozier likes his team's chances.

"We have a pretty solid team," said Lozier. "I'm confident as long we play well at state and put in some good rounds."
