Division II/Section I

Despite losing Santino Duarte to a knee injury just prior to the start of the season, the Sunnyside Blue Devils have quietly built a 6-0 record with big wins over Cholla and Catalina Foothills. Senior guard Jacob Inclan is averaging over 20 points a game.

Sahuaro is 4-1 with an evenly spread offensive attack and Rincon and Cienega are both 5-2. Throw in Nogales (4-2) and Buena (4-2) and this section is destined to be a wild ride to the finish.

Division II/Section IV

Salpointe is 5-1 and the Lancers appear to be the early favorites in this section along with Catalina Foothills (4-1).  Salpointe features 6-foot-5 freshman Majok Deng and guard Cameron Miller while the Falcons bring Nik Nehls to the table. Miller's dad is University of Arizona coach Sean Miller and Nehl's father Joe Nehls played basketball for the Wildcats.

Marana Mountain View is the surprise team to this point with a 5-2 record including wins over Cienega and Sahuaro.

Division III/Section III

A mega section that is already into section play. Casa Grande and Pueblo are both 3-0 in section games but Flowing Wells, Cholla and Palo Verde are all 2-1. But, with 13 section games on the schedule, the road is still long.

Division IV/Section II

Pima is 4-0 and appears to be the team to beat at this point with Desert Christian (2-1) and Pusch Ridge (2-1) in the hunt.

Division V/Section II

The St. Augustine Wolves are undefeated (4-0) and have only been challenged in one game so far. Sophomore Andrew Reyna is scoring over 12 points a game with the next five players adding more than seven points an outing each. This is a complete team.

Division V/Section VI

Immaculate Heart is 4-0 under first-year coach Dennis Boyd. This squad could be the program's most successful one if the streak continues.
