Results from Monday Dec. 28 games at VisitMesa.com Basketball Challenge at Mesa Mtn. View High School:

SUNNYSIDE 46, CLARK (NV)  39: Forward Jacob Inclan connected for 23 points as the Blue Devils (10-2) prevailed in the tourney's opening game over the Chargers (8-2). Sunnyside built a modest lead in the first half (20-16) and stayed the course in the second half with Inclan leading the way behind Sunnyside's effective 2-3 zone.

MTN. RIDGE 61, LOYOLA (IL) 53: The Greens -- senior Jayden and freshman Josh -- combined for 46 points to lead the Mountain Lions (9-1) past the Ramblers (6-5). Jayden Green scored a game-high 27 points and Josh Green added 19 as Mountain Ridge controlled the game from the outset.  Ramar Evans  tallied 21 points for Loyola

PERRY 46, GILBERT 41: Wyatt Stolzfus broke a 41-41 tie with two free throws with 21 seconds left and teammates added three more before the final buzzer as the Pumas (9-3) edged the Tigers (8-4). Point guard Kyle Vanharen led Perry with 14 points and post John Schlangen added 13 points. Chris Bowling scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half as Gilbert managed to battle back from a 14-point deficit.

ORANGE LUTHERAN (CA) 75, RED MOUNTAIN 62: The Lancers (9-2) opened up a 13-point lead in the first half and maintained it pretty much throughout the second half in defeating the Mountain Lions (6-5). Orange Lutheran had four players score in double figures -- Kavaughn Scott (20), Zac Jervis (16), Chris Williams (12) and Joseph Riley (11). Red Mountain got 18 points from Andres Mayberry and 14 each from Desi Ethridge and Abe Mercado.

FEDERAL WAY (WA) 57, BASHA 41: The visiting Eagles (4-0) knocked the Bears (11-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten, pulling away in the second half for a decisive victory. Basha lead 13-8 about midway through the first half, but found itself down 23-17 at intermission. Things got worse from there. Gabe McGlothan led Basha with 12 points while Federal Way had three players score in double figures -- D'Jimon Jones (17), Marcus Sephens (13) and Christian Jones (10).

DESERT VISTA 71, CHAPARRAL 44:  The Thunder (7-5) swayed the outcome their way with a big first half in beating the Firebirds (4-7). Tarik Cool collected a game-high 19 points and Caleb Simmons added 14. JT Thoman  pacedChaparral with 16 points.

AMERICAN FORK (UT) 74, CORONA DEL SOL 62: The Cavemen (7-1) used the torrid shooting of Brendan Bailey (18 first-half points) to build a 12-point lead at intermission and went on to beat the Aztecs (5-4). Bailey tied for team-scoring honors with 21 points. Teammate Spencer Johnson did muc of the damage for American Fork in the second half with 14 of his 21 points. Saben Lee (25), Tyrell Henderson (18) and Alex Barcello (18) combined for all but one of Corona del Sol's points.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD (PA) 56, MESA MTN. VIEW 51: The Vikings (4-0) hung on to edge the host Toros (5-4) to complete play on Monday. Tommy Funk led Archbishop Wood with 17 points and Tyree Pickron chipped in with 14. Tommy Kuhse paced Mountain View with 21 points.
