It has to stop as some point, right? The law of averages have to take over sooner or later.

Either the hitter has to slow down or the opposition stops pitching to a batter that continuously comes through and is in the midst of putting together an offensive season that is bound to shatter school records.

Or maybe the hot streak continues for another month because it isn't fluke. There are times when a player is locked in for a full season.

At least Valley Christian's Hailey Heeringa hopes so, as the senior slugger is putting together one of the best seasons not only in the state but the country.

"My approach is different," she said about her development from last year. "I am being more selective and not swinging at pitches out of my zone like I did last year.

"I'm waiting for the right pitch."

Here is a look at Arizona's statistical leaders (AIA schools only) through April 7. Is there someone who should be on the list but isn't? Encourage their coach to supply stats on MaxPreps, and contact support@maxpreps.com with any questions or issues.
