Section champs have been decided in baseball and softball. State tournament plays begins Friday April 29 for divisons III-IV and V and for divisions I and II on April 30. Here's the list by division and section:

BASEBALL

Division I: 24 teams qualify for state with automatic berths to section champs. Tournament format is single elimination the first two rounds and double elimination when the field is narrowed to eight teams. Top 8 teams receive first-round bye.

Section I: Basha is champ. Section II: Mountain Ridge is champ. Section III: Skyline is champ. 

Division II: 24 teams qualify for state with automatic berths to section champs. Tournament format is single elimination the first two rounds and double elimination when the field is narrowed to eight teams. Top 8 teams receive first-round bye.

Section I:  Sunnyside is champ. Section II: Thunderbird is champ. Section III: Arcadia is champ. If tied with Williams Field and Saguaro, Arcadia wins tiebreaker. Section IV: Salpointe is champ. Section V: Bradshaw Mountain is champ.

Division III: 32 teams qualify for state with automatic berths to section champs. Tournament format is single elimination.

Section I:  Mingus is champ. Section II: Nogales is champ. Section III: San Luis is champ. Section IV: North Canyon is champ. Section V: Lee Williams is champ. Section VI: Alhambra is champ. Section VII: Casa Grande is champ.

Section I: Joseph City is champ. Section II: Valley Union is champ. Section III: Santa Cruz is champ. Section IV: Seligman is champ, wins tiebreaker among Mohave Accelerated, Mayer and Bagdad. Section V:  Ray is champ.
