The calendar turned to April last Friday and most baseball teams are hot and heavy in to their region schedules.

Here is a glance at  the East Valley and Southern Arizona region races as of April 4:

5A Central: Mesquite (3-0-1) leads with Dobson and Basha at 2-1 and Mesa Mountain View at 1-1-2. 5A East Valley: Desert Ridge is on top at 4-0 followed by Mountain Pointe (3-1) and Perry (3-2). 5A Fiesta: Hamilton 2-0, Brophy 1-0, Mesa and Desert Vista 1-1. 5A Southern: Ironwood Ridge (3-1), Salpointe (3-1), Sunnyside (2-1) and Rincon (2-1-1). Ironwood Ridge is on top since it has a win over Salpointe. 5A Gila Valley: Cibola is in first at (3-0) followed by  Yuma (2-0) ; Lake Havasu (2-2) and Gila Ridge (1-1). 4A Desert Sky: Queen Creek and Saguaro sport 5-0 marks followed by McClintock at 4-2. Queen Creek and Saguaro meet on April 6 at QC. 4A East Sky: Williams Field is 6-0 with Seton next at 4-1 and Notre Dame at 4-2. 4A Gila: Rio Rico (3-0) followed by Douglas (3-1) and Catalina (3-1). 4A Sonoran and 4A Kino: Begin region play this week, April 5-9.
