Boys and girls holiday basketball tournaments inundate the East Valley next week leading up to the new year.

Boys action starts off with the McClintock Holiday Shootout with all games at McClintock HS. The tournament begins Monday Dec. 26 and continues through to the title game on Thursday Dec. 29.

MCCLINTOCK HOLIDAY SHOOTOUT

The first-round games Monday Dec. 26 for the McClintock Shootout: 10 a.m. - Mesquite vs. Chandler; 11:30 a.m. -- Boulder Creek vs. Mesa; 1 p.m. - Desert Mountain vs. Mountain Pointe; 2:30 p.m,. -- Campo Verde vs. Shadow Mountain; 4 p.m. -- Marcos de Niza vs. Hamilton; 5:30 p.m. -- Dobson vs. McClintock; 7 p.m. -- Arcadia vs. Gilbert; 8:30 p.m. -- Tempe vs. Brophy Prep.

VISIT MESA BASKETBALL CHALLENGE

Mesa Mountain View HS plays host to the Visit Mesa Basketball Challenge. The tournament is non-bracketed with eight games each day beginning Tuesday Dec. 27 and concluding Friday Dec. 30. Teams competing are: Sunnyslope, Desert Ridge, Chaparral, Copper Hills, UT, St. Mary's, Red Mountain; Perry, King's, WA, Serra (CA), Mountain Ridge, Salpointe, Alta, UT, Basha, Mountain View, Apollo, Corona del Sol. Games begin each day at 10 a.m. with start times 90 minutes apart. The last game each day is set for 8:30 p.m.

Girls tournaments after Christmas will be hosted by Arcadia HS and Red Mountain HS. Arcadia's 8th Annual Titan Winter Classic features 24 teams begins Monday Dec. 26 and runs through Wednesday Dec. 28 at Arcadia. All games are at Arcadia HS. Monday is pool play with teams breaking off to brackets Tuesday and Wednesday.  Red Mountain's Holiday Classic begins Tuesday Dec. 26 and continues through Friday Dec. 30. Competing schools are: Desert Vista, Mountain View, Basha, Skyline, Cienega, Chandler, Loyola Academy (IL), Xavier, Desert Ridge, Sierra Linda, Red Mountain, Campo Verde, Mission Prep, (CA) and Ironwood Ridge.
