Athletic director Dave Huffine announced Tuesday that Curt LeBlanc will take over the head football coaching reigns of Coronado High.

LeBlanc’s last coaching gig was as offensive coordinator for Camp Verde but served as head coach for 11 years during his time at Payson and Queen Creek. LeBlanc also will join Coronado’s math department.

Student athletes interested in playing football at Coronado can meet LeBlanc during a 3 p.m. Wednesday meeting the school is hosting. LeBlanc had a successful run at Queen Creek, which ended in 2009, the last time he walked the sidelines as a head coach.
