Pinnacle watched Basha rally from behind three times Wednesday in their 6A baseball playoff game. When the seventh inning arrived, the Pioneers decided to stage a comeback of their own.

James Wicker's RBI single in the top of the seventh capped a two-run rally that lifted No. 8 Pinnacle to a 9-8 victory over the top-seeded Bears at Diablo Stadium.

The Bears came close to duplicating that again in the round of the elite eight, coming back from 2-0, 4-2 and 7-4 deficits to tie or take the lead. Pinnacle (23-7), however, stole Basha's thunder in this one.
