The Arizona Interscholastic Association released a statement Friday regarding Thursday's special meeting its executive board held.
On Thursday, August 10th, the Arizona Interscholastic Association Executive Board held a special session to hear hardship appeals, requested by the Chandler Unified School District. The hardship appeals were specifically for students who were negatively impacted by the allegations of past hazing at Hamilton High School. As such, the appeals reference information is part of an ongoing law enforcement investigation. The AIA Executive Board chose to hold a special closed session so as to protect the confidentiality and safety of the students involved.
