WEEK SIX PREVIEW

6A Tucson (5-0, 3-0) at 4A SALPOINTE (4-0)

One would have to believe the Badgers will make the 6A playoffs if they can pull of the upset but a struggle against Mountain View last Friday is cause for concern. The Lancers are at home and they won’t be taking anyone lightly.

5A BUENA (3-1) at 5A Apollo (1-3)

The Colts look to move to 4-1 before having to take on Marana and Cienega.

5A CIENEGA (3-1) at 5A Mountain View (0-3)

A typical rivalry game may not have the same feel to it this year but the Mountain Lions played Tucson tough last Friday night.

5A Sunnyside (3-1) at 4A SAHUARO (4-1, 1-0)

The Cougars are a few seconds from an undefeated record and the team should move to 5-1.

5A EMPIRE (1-3) at 5A Nogales (2-2)

The Apaches have been up and down so far, beating Rio Rico 45-0 and then losing to Walden Grove 49-0.

5A IRONWOOD RIDGE (1-3) at 5A Desert View (1-3)

The Nighthawks have to recover from an unusual 1-3 start. Three losses is on the edge of a playoff spot.

4A PALO VERDE (1-3) at 5A Rincon/UHS (0-4)

The Titans in a close one.

4A Walden Grove (3-1) at 4A GLENDALE (4-0)

The Red Wolves are hoping for an upset and this could be the week for that but the game is on the road.

4A DOUGLAS (4-0) at 4A Silver City, NM (2-1)

The Bulldogs could go 5-0 for the first time since 1981. The team beat Silver City that year also.

4A Pueblo (1-3) at 4A CATALINA FOOTHILLS (1-3)

Another rivalry game of sorts and both teams need the win.

4A Prescott (3-1) at 4A CANYON DEL ORO (3-1)

A game that was rained out earlier in the year. 2013 was the last time the Dorados started out 4-1.

3A Ben Franklin (3-2, 1-0) at 3A SABINO (2-2)

If the Sabercats can win at home then the early losses with literally be a thing of the past.

3A San Tan Foothills (2-2) at 3A SAHUARITA (3-1)

Four wins this early hasn’t happened since the Mustangs started the 2014 season out 12-0.

3A COOLIDGE (4-1, 0-1) at 3A Catalina (1-3)

The Bears have matched their win total for the last two years combined.

3A PUSCH RIDGE (1-3) at 3A Fountain Hills (2-2)

The Lions have three losses to some very good teams.

3A TANQUE VERDE (1-3) at 3A AZ College Prep (0-4)

The Hawks going for their second win of the year.

2A Heritage (0-5) at 2A BENSON (2-2, 1-0)

The Bobcats might get to rest some players for the homestretch.

2A Pima (2-2) at 2A TOMBSTONE (3-1)

Tyler Wilridge is one of the hottest running backs in the state.

2A MORENCI (4-1) at 2A Bisbee (2-2)

The Wildcats are on fire once again.

2A AZ LUTHERAN (4-0) at 2A Willcox (3-1)

The Cowboys could make some noise with an upset here with region play on the horizon.

2A Santa Rita (0-4, 0-1) at 2A SAN MANUEL (0-3)

A close game with the Miners getting the home-field edge.

2A Santa Cruz (1-3) at 2A THATCHER (5-0, 1-0)

Not the same Dust Devil team the Eagles beat in overtime to win the 2A state championship last year.

1A Valley Union (1-4, 1-0) at 1A FORT THOMAS (4-0, 2-0)

The Apaches are one of four undefeated teams at the 1A level.

1A Duncan (2-2, 1-0) at 2A ST. DAVID (3-2, 1-1)

The Tigers need this one after dropping a 74-23 game to Fort Thomas last week.

1A Bowie/San Simon (0-4, 0-2) at 1A BABOQUIVARI (1-4, 0-2)

The Warriors went 0-8 last year.
