Legend Nichols attends Canyon View High School and is a member of the AIA's Student SID program.

 

The Canyon View girls JV B basketball team lost their first game of the season by a score of 39-15. 

 

“We tried our best, we all gave it our all for our first game. It was a good way to start the season even though we lost,” freshman Dayanara Victorino said.

 

During the second quarter, freshman Keiya McWhiter lead the way with a fierce steal and basket, but the Jaguars were still down 19-10 at halftime.

 

Freshman Mariya Hernandez made a shot at the end of the third quarter making the score 32-12.

 

“This was a great first game, we learned a lot about what we can improve on and saw where some of our weaker spots were. Knowing these, we can fix those in the beginning,” coach Shannon Backstrom said.
