Canyon View Jaguars fall 52-17 to the Agua Fria Owls

Legend Nichols attends Canyon View High School and is a member of the AIA's Student SID program. 

 

WADDELL, Ariz. - The Canyon View JV B girls basketball team lost to the Agua Fria Owls by a score of 52-17.

 

“This game wasn’t our best, but we had fun as a team and we are going to do better next game,” said freshman Emma Richter.

 

Sophomore Cassidy Stafford scored first for the Lady Jags after making a lay-up. In the second quarter, freshman Aryana Lopez made a two point shot to make it 17-4.

 

“This was a good learning experience, I think we could've have done a lot of things differently or even better,” said Coach Shannon Backstrom. 

 

The third quarter was tough for the Lady Jags but freshmen Dayanara and Thamara Victorino each made two points to make the score 41-9. 

 

During the fourth quarter, freshman Maria Hernandez and sophomore Alyssa Ochoa both made three pointers, making the final score 52-17.
