"I really think we are going to win," Trey Donaldson said to a class full of Yearbook students the day before the big game. His confidence paid off in the State Quarterfinal win against Valley Christian. Second-ranked Valley Christian seemed like a very tough foe. The game was close through the first half. During the second half, the Knights began to build a lead. The fourth quarter was a barrage of scoring for the Knights. The Knights are in the semi-finals!Senior Trey Donaldson earlier at home takes flight. Now Gilbert Christian has another high-ranked opponent. ALA Queen Creek is ranked 3rd in the state (3A Division).

"They are a big physical team. It will be a classic, size versus speed," Gilbert Christian Head Coach Keener stated. "We have played them this year and it went to overtime." The Knights fell in double overtime to the Patriots earlier this season. Both teams have developed since then. Who has improved the most, will be the decisive factor.

Donaldson has set his sight on the prize!
