Cienega standout senior Daniel Henely shot a 2-under-par 33 on the Silverbelle Golf Course to help lead the Bobcats to victory over Flowing Wells on Thursday. Henely trimmed his scores with birdies on the 2nd and 7th par-5 holes. His teammate Diego Guerrero came in three shots back with a 1-over 36. Ryan Torres and Zim Vigil led Flowing Wells with 54.

Henely tied for 9th place at the Division I state championships last spring. He was the highest finisher from Southern Arizona.

“My greatest hope for 2020-21 golfwise is to win state as an individual and to represent Tucson more,” Henely said prior to the season. “What I like most about my team this year is being able to play alongside my best friend Diego Guerrero and to help out with our freshmen and sophomores who are trying to improve and come to love the game.”
