“Are you enjoying cheer this year?”

“Yes, I love the team and we have really great coaches this year.” Abby says, “We are close and very supportive of each other.” She enjoys how supportive her teammates are and how hardworking they are.

“How many practices do you have?”

“We have practices Monday through Thursday and then games on Friday. Practices are about an hour and a half long.” The GCS cheer team is known for their stunts and tumbling skills and this year people have noticed that they haven't done that yet. Abby says, “Our coaches won’t let us because of possible injury.” Many people hope to see them stunting soon!

“Do you enjoy cheering on the sidelines?”

“Yes I like cheering on the sidelines because I like when the team is together and supporting the football team.” Abby answered. Abby is in the front row when she cheers which is a great honor.

The last question is, “How is the cheer team dealing with COVID-19?”

“It isn’t an ideal situation but we manage. We have to wear masks at games but luckily not during practice.” Abby explained.

The GCS cheer team is an important aspect of GCHS, and we are lucky to have them. They support many of our sports teams and always encourage others to do their best. Thank you Abby for giving people a closer look into our Spiritline!
