Gilbert Christians’s very own sophomore, Brianna Tennison, SETS the way to play-offs! How does she do it!?

How long have you been setting?

Brianna says, “I've been a setter for about two or three years and I've been playing volleyball for about five years now.”

How does being a setter on varsity affect your role on the team?

“Being a setter gives me more responsibility then others on the court. I touch the ball every play, so if I’m having an off game everyone is having an off game.”

Why do you think setting is important?

“Like I said before, I touch the ball every single play. I have to get a good set to our hitters so they can get a point. If I set a good ball and the hitter gets the point they get the glory. I take all the pain and none of the fame but I love it,” says Brianna.

How do you lead the team on and off the court?

She says, “I simply strive to encourage everyone on and off the court no matter what. I know how unhelpful it is for people to be yelling at you when you’re already upset. I never want to be that person.”

Do you think the team will make play-offs?

Brianna says, “I think this year I can SET the way to play-offs! I believe in my team and I know we are gonna go far!”

Brianna believes that the volleyball team can get to play-offs! Do you?
