Ten schools, mostly parochial schools, have petitioned up in several  sports for the coming two-year block that covers the 2011-2013 school years.

The Arizona Interscholatic Association released a list Tuesday of all schools who have requested moving up a division or more from their initial placement. Initial division placements for 2011-2013 were announced last week. Those schools petitioning up are Notre Dame Prep, Pusch Ridge Academy, St. Mary\'s, Santa Rita, Scottsdale Christian, Seton Catholic, Tempe Prep, Tuba City, Valley Christian and Westwind Prep.

Only four schools petitioned up in footballl - St. Mary\'s from Division IV to Division I; Notre Dame from Division IV to Division II; and Salpointe and Santa Rita from Division IV to Division II. All of the schools requesting to move up except Tempe Prep, did so in boys and girls basketball.

St. Mary\'s petitioned up to Division I in all sports per its usual request. Seton Catholic petitioned up to Division II from Division III in several sports, including baseball, basketball, softball, girls volleyball and tennis. Seton did not petition up in football.
