Hamilton can become the ninth school in state football history in the modern era to win three consecutive football titles or more if it defeats Desert Ridge on Monday in the 5A-I championship game at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Two schools --  Blue Ridge and Flagstaff High -- have won four in a row. Blue Ridge accomplished that feat between 1994-1997 in 3A and Flagstaff  between 1981-1984 in 4A.

The other schools with three consecutive titles are 5A-II Centennial (2006-2008); 4A-I Saguaro (2006-2008); 3A Snowflake (1991-1993); 3A Eloy Santa Cruz (1978-1980); 2A St. Johns (1992-1994) and 1A McNary (1964-1966).
