Pacheco, Pratt familiar, productive names for Red Mtn. hoops

During Greg Session's tenure as Red Mountain boys basketball coach, there have been more years with a Pratt or Pacheco than not.

The scoreboard reads Sessions 12 years total - seven with a Pratt and or Pacheco. The last of each are part of Red Mountain's 2010-2011 squad. Through the Mountain Lions first 10 games this season, junior Eric Pacheco leads the team in scoring and senior Jordan Pratt is just a point or so behind in that category.

Leading scorers or not is irrelevan to Sessions. It's the sense of community the families and the sons have brought to the program.

"There's nothing better than to have good kids, kids like them who are team players and have supportive parents," Sessions said. "You can't ask for more."

Eric Pacheco and Jordan Pratt have hung around Red Mountain's gym as long as any of the family. Eric, while brothers Ruben and Preston played; Jordan during stints of older siblings Sterling and Forrest.

"They are our top scorers, but besides that having been around when they were smaller and watched how we do things they know the expectations. What we like to accomplish as a program. They fit right in when they got here."

It's hard to miss the Pratts. They attend games decked out in black T-shirts with Jordan's No. 20 on their back and the name Pratt above the 20. It's not just mom and dad Pratt. It's the older brothers as well.
