Basketball in 4A-II, 4A-I continues Wednesday, Thursday

The Class 4A state basketball tournament continues this week with semifinal games for Division II boys and girls on Wednesday (Feb. 23) at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale and for Division I boys and girls on Thursday (Feb. 24) at the same location.
In 4A-II girls’ play, defending champion Chandler Seton Catholic, the No. 2 seed, meets third-seeded Glendale Cactus at 3:30 p.m. It will be followed by the game between top-seeded Flagstaff and No. 5 Phoenix Thunderbird.
In 4A-II boys’ action, No. 3 Thunderbird meets No. 7 Tempe at 6:30 p.m., followed by the game between top-seeded Tucson Amphitheater and No. 5 Goodyear Desert Edge.
The girls’ semis for 4A-I also highlight the early schedule on Thursday.
No. 6 Prescott meets No. 2 Glendale Apollo at 3:30 p.m., and No. 1 Phoenix Shadow Mountain takes on No. 5 El Mirage Dysart at 5.
The 4A-I boys’ semis are No. 2 Peoria against No. 3 Scottsdale Saguaro at 6:30 p.m. and No. 1 Glendale Raymond S. Kellis against No. 5 Nogales at 8.
All the winners will play in the championship games on Saturday (Feb. 26) at Jobing.com Arena.
