Krystal Quihuis didn't have the best round of the day Saturday, but her 71 was good enough to land her a second consecutive individual title at the Division II state girls golf tournament at Silverbell Golf Course in Tucson.

Quihuis, who is a junior, totaled 137 for the two days. Good enough to beat out Canyon del Oro's Megan Messick. Messick had the best round Saturday, shooting a 70. Messick finished four shots behind Quihuis.

Salpointe scored seven shots better as a team in the final round than in the first round to win D-II for the second straight season. The Lancers total of 599 bested runner-up Cactus Shadows (663). The race for the runner-up slot was tight as only four shots separated second-through fifth-places. Notre Dame was third (664), Sahuaro fourth (666) and Ironwood Ridge fifth (667).

Rounding out the top 10 finishers in the tournament behind Quihuis and Messick were Sahuaro's Desiree Hong, Verrado's Kaylee Benton and Cactus Shadows Abbie Cantwell  at (148); Salpointe's Brianna Vogel and Ironwood Ridge's Adrianna Grijalva at (150), and Campo Verde's Kim Cifuentes, St. Gregory's Natassja Meredith and Salpointe's Araceli Esquivel at (154).
