Game recap - Bradshaw Mountain at Saguaro

September 13, 2013 by Game Previews, AZPreps365

Friday the 13th was an extremely lucky day for Saguaro senior signal-caller Luke Rebenzer, who led his Sabercats to a touchdown on every drive he quarterbacked in Saguaro's 69-21 drubbing of Bradshaw Mountain Friday evening in Scottsdale.

For the game, Rebenzer was 13 of 15 passing for 299 yards and five touchdowns on eight drives before being pulled late in the third quarter. Two of the TD tosses were to senior wideout JT Nettleton of 77 and 60 yards. Saguaro junior Christian Kirk notched a TD trifecta, scoring on a first quarter 49-yard run to get the Cats' on the board, then catching an 18-yard TD pass later in the period, and finally taking a punt 80 yards into the end zone in the third quarter. Sabercats' senior running back Isaiah Reece had two rushing touchdowns in the game, while junior teammate Cameron Koutsalas caught a 16-yard touchdown pass on offense and took an interception back 36 yards for a score on defense - both in the initial period. Brett Adams finished off the Cats' scoring in the third quarter with a 33-yard TD reception.

Saguaro jumped out to a 41-0 lead as the Bears only managed three net yards on their first four drives of the game.  Bradshaw Mountain junior quarterback Colton Audsley finished the game with a 20-yard touchdown scramble and two TD passes - a 27-yarder to senior wide receiver Nick Martensen and a 50-yard strike to Augie Espinoza.

Saguaro is now 2-1 on the year and has scored 122 points in its last two games. The Sabercats will travel to Apache Junction next Friday to battle the Prospectors.

Bradshaw Mountain drops to 2-1 and will face Kingman on the road next week.
