A three-way tie resulted in a coin flip to determine the 14th seed in the Division II state soccer tournament bracket for girls.

Thunderbird won the coin flip, leaving Sunnsylope and Sunrise Mountain to play a 4 p.m. mini-playoff game on Monday at Thunderbird for the 15th seed in the bracket. Section mates Thunderbird, Sunrise Mountain and Sunnyslope each finished with the same record (10-2), rating (9.2050) and average opponent rating (-1.8103).

To break the tie, AIA officials held the coin toss, as per Arizona Interscholastic Association bylaws. Head-to-head competition is the first tiebreaker, but the three teams went 1-1 against each other during the regular season.

The mini-playoff game with no Golden Goal scenario will last 10 minutes. If the teams are tied after the 10-minute period, they will continue to play 10-minute periods until a winner is determined.

The No. 16 seed went to Flagstaff, which earned an automatic berth after winning its section.
