Calveion Landrum of Waco La Vega (Texas) guided her team to three wins last week, helping the Pirates improve to 32-2 overall. The captain finished the session by averaging 27.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 4.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks.

ATLANTA (February 29, 2016) – The WBCA has announced its High School Players of the Week presented by MaxPreps for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 28.

In its inaugural year the WBCA High School Player of the Week is presented to a deserving student-athlete who demonstrated outstanding play throughout the week. Head coaches submit nominations each week and the WBCA selects the individual based on stats that were submitted.

Region 1
Desiree Elmore, a senior from Capital Prep High School in Hartford, Connecticut, propelled the Trailblazers to two wins on the week to improve to 19-3 on the season. Elmore finished the week averaging 39.5 points, 16.5 rebounds, 7.5 blocks, 6.5 steals and 4.0 assists. In a 90-36 win against Prince RVT on Feb. 24, Elmore recorded a season-high nine blocks.

Region 2
Madison May, a 5-foot-11 senior from PikeView High School in Princeton, West Virginia, ended the week averaging 30.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.5 steals and 1.0 blocks. May posted a season-best seven assists in a 70-45 win against River View High School on Feb. 23.

Region 3

Tyona Moses, a 5-foot-10 senior from Goldsboro High School (Goldsboro, North Carolina), ended the week averaging 39.5 points. Moses recorded a season-high 55 points in a 74-72 win against North Brunswick High School on Feb. 23.

Region 4

Kylee Leffew, a 5-foot-11 senior from Colonial Christian High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, has led the Cougars to four straight wins to improve to 12-5 on the season. In the two wins last week Leffew averaged 29.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.0 steals and 3.0 assists. She has posted a double-double in each of the last 10 games for the Cougars.

Region 5

Emma Wolf, a 6-foot-1 sophomore from Buffalo High School (Buffalo, Missouri), tallied a season-best 55 points against Strafford High School on Feb. 24.

Region 6

Calveion Landrum, a 5-foot-11 senior from La Vega High School in Waco, Texas, guided the Pirates to three wins to improve to 32-2 overall. The captain finished the week averaging 27.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 4.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks. Landrum tallied her first double-double of the season in a 71-41 win against Mexia High School on Feb. 23, recording 38 points and 11 rebounds.

Region 7
Najiyyah Pack, a 5-foot-10 senior from South Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona, has helped the Jaguars win their last eight contests. In two wins last week the captain finished with 34.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 3.5 assists and 3.0 blocks. She posted a double-double in both wins for the Jaguars, having posted at least a double-double in back-to-back games for the fifth time this season.

Region 8

Dawnyel Lair, a 5-foot-7 sophomore, from Price High School in Los Angeles, California, has helped navigate the Knights to a 24-6 record following two wins last week. During the two wins Lair averaged 35.0 points, 22.5 rebounds, 9.5 assists, 7.5 steals and 2.0 blocks. Lair posted her third straight quadruple-double in an 84-30 win against Big Pine High School on Feb. 24.

Region 9
Jada Lewis, a 5-foot-8 senior from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, has led the Indians to 18 straight victories to improve to 24-7 overall. Lewis concluded the week averaging 30.0 points, 7.5 assists, 5.0 steals and 2.5 rebounds. The captain was perfect from the free throw line in a 62-45 win against Westlake High School on Feb. 25, converting on all seven attempts.
