BOYS VOLLEYBALL: Rincon takes early lead at the Salpointe Invitational

Rincon/University went 3-0 on Friday to take an early lead at the Salpointe Lancer Boys Volleyball Invitational. Played under a round-robin format, each of the six teams are scheduled to play a total of five matches at the two-day tournament.

Mountain View Marana is 2-0, Cienega is 1-2, Tucson is 1-2, Kellis is 1-2 and Salpointe is 0-2. The Rangers will face Mountain View Saturday morning to set the tone for the rest of the day. If Rincon/UHS wins that match, then the Rangers will be 4-0 and practically guaranteed the top spot in the tournament.

 

Friday, April 13

Cienega over Kellis 2-0 (25-21, 25-19)

Rincon/UHS over Tucson 2-0 (26-24, 14-25, 15-12)

Mountain View over Kellis 2-1 (25-15, 24-26, 15-11)

Rincon/UHS over Salpointe 2-0 (25-17, 25-23)

Mountain View over Cienega 2-1 (25-21, 25-27, 15-13)

Tucson over Salpointe 2-0 (25-12, 25-18)

Rincon/UHS over Cienega 2-1 (26-24, 20-25, 15-11)

Kellis over Tucson 2-1 (18-25, 25-14, 15-13)
