Corona del Sol swimmers are ready to go to Skyline High School and get in the water at the state swim meet taking place Friday and Saturday.

“I’m definitely really pumped,” senior Francisco Esparza said.

This will be his third and final time going to the state swim meet, and although he is excited to compete, he’s said he is even more excited to swim the 200-yard medley relay event.

“I just like the relays and working with my other teammates,” Esparza said. “I feel like that’s really fun and special to me.”

For senior Devyn Brown, this will be her fourth appearance at the state meet.

“It’s my last year so I’m kind of sad about it, but I’m excited,” Brown said. “I think I’ll do well.”

Though Brown will only be swimming in one event, the 200-yard medley relay, she’s feeling very confident about how the relay team will do.

“We should be able to swim in finals on Saturday because we’re seeded pretty high up,” Brown said.

This will be senior Roan Kelleher’s second time at state and he will be competing in five events.

“I’m going to give it my all,” Kelleher said. “All the training I’ve done through the whole couple weeks and months and everything I’ve done over the summer will show, and just how much time I’ve put into practice, and I think I’ll get a good result out of it so I’m looking forward to that.”
