First-year athletic director Mark Gorman has had quite the excitement as fall sports have just come to an end and winter sports are beginning this week.

"In my first football season being the athletic director, I haven’t had high expectations, but I expect every team to always give it their best," Gorman said.

Gorman attended the football team's last game of the season against Agua Fria and said he says a bright future.

“(Frank) Lautt is a great coach, and we have an amazing running game," Gorman said. "With a little more work in the passing game, who knows what more we could be.”

In that game, the Bulldogs won, 57-28, to finish the season with a 6-4 record

“The win against Agua Fria is a great start to start thinking about what this team could be next season," Gorman said.

“We have a lot of potential for next season as we are only losing four seniors,” Lautt said.

The football team fell short of the playoffs,  but Gorman was upbeat.

“I couldn’t be prouder of these boys," he said. "They fought hard every game and gave it their all.”

Earnest Greenwood, the team's leadig rusher, will be returning next season. He rushed for three touchdowns and 349 yards against Agua Fria, giving him 23 TDs and 1761 yards rushing for the season.

He has “next level talent,” Gorman said.
