AZFCA selects board members

Below is a press release by the Arizona Football Coaches Association, which recently selected its newest board members.

Coaches, athletic directors and administrators,

As a community of coaches, we know that we have strength in numbers, and we need to come together, unite and be heard. The Arizona Football Coaches Association has been dormant for a few years and no individual is to blame for that. With that being said, the AzFCA is relaunching.

A group of coaches recently got together with the sole purpose of bringing together our community for the betterment of the football being played in our state. A new board was put together, officers were selected, and committees are being formed with one goal in mind: membership.

Sadly, the number of members of the AzFCA dropped below ten total members. Ten! We can’t let that happen in a state of our size, with the talent we produce and with as many talented coaches that we have.

There are many topics that have been brought up and we want more coaches involved. Jim Camarillo from the Minority Football Coaches Network has a clinic coming up and that will be our first big push to gain members on May 1st in Scottsdale, Arizona. Details on that will follow.

Costs will be affordable and, again, the student-athletes will be first on everyone’s mind. We need to check all of our egos at the door and get this thing rolling again.

We will need all of your help to make this a success. Like I mentioned, committees are going to be formed to help with things such as Spring Showcases, Spring Clinic/Conference, Recruiting Fair/Showcase, 7-on-7 tournaments, All-State Team, an All-Star Game, and more.

Undoubtedly, there are questions and there will be many more details to come. Below is a new board and list of officers that were all voted on.
