Max Lightfoot, a member of the men’s varsity basketball team at Gilbert Christian, is having a great season. Max says, “We are having a very successful season so far and have been playing great basketball.” His favorite part about basketball is getting close with his coaches and teammates and being able to play in games. His coaches have a very positive impact on his playing. Max says the basketball team is always very prepared for their games and they always come ready. Nothing is setting him back this season.

Max’s strength in basketball is definitely his rebounds and his weakness is his blocks. Max is keeping a positive attitude and mindset for their upcoming playoff game on March 10th, 2021. This is a big game for him and his team and he is very excited. The team is preparing for the upcoming playoffs by watching film during lunchtime and hitting the gym. Max says in basketball you learn many life skills and how to handle people you don’t agree with. It also teaches them many teamwork skills. Max balances the demands of basketball with his school work by having a devoted time for homework and studying.

Max thinks how you practice is how you play. His position is a power forward and he  plays to his best ability at every practice and works hard, preparing himself for more playing time and a good game. He averages about five points per game, with an average of two assists per game. Max also gets six rebounds per game. He is very good at his sport and being 6’5 is definitely an advantage. Max is definitely a great addition to the men’s varsity basketball team and has nothing but good things, per game, to say about this season.
