Looking for Leaders

October 16, 2012 by Kevin Ray, AZPreps365

It’s been 5 years in the making but when I look at AIA365.com today I couldn’t be prouder and the main reason is the students.    Each week we’re seeing more schools come on board as an official school of AIA365.  What does that mean?  It means schools and their students can create and deliver their own content and that’s ultimately what AIA365 was designed for.

Today’s students are incredibly tech savvy and the schools and administrators who have recognized this are the ones who are truly benefiting.  Schools/students  are producing full game broadcasts, highlight videos, daily announcements, commercials, PSA’s you name it.  We’re seeing students utilizing social media platforms to promote their work and school pages which helps drive attention and traffic to their page.  The next step will be getting more students from the journalism side to start delivering more blogs and stories to give the school pages even more robust coverage.

We’ve seen schools like Red Mountain High School get each of their sports programs engaged thru both video delivery and social media updates.  Liberty High School and the newly created Peoria Students Broadcast Network are creating full game broadcasts and creating several different types of new content weekly and they’ve even co-produced a game with AIA365.com with more to come.

At Shadow Ridge one of the newer schools in Arizona a story was shared by the Athletic Director about a young man who is so excited by being able to create content for the school that he spent Fall break coming up with new ideas on what they could do next.  There are several other schools who have launched their pages and are beginning to tap into their students creativity.

While the game winning TD is a big deal or the big shot makes headlines there are students at schools who have the desire and capability to capture those stories and video and get them in front of even more people.   For every football player who wants to be the next Tom Brady there are just as many students who have designs on becoming the next Al Michaels or Sportscenter anchor or the main columnist for a magazine or news site.

Join the schools and students who have tapped into the power of their pages on AIA365.com.  They have led by example and you can join them.  Give your students the opportunity to do amazing things and at the same time you can promote your school & programs.  The rewards are endless.  If the first 3 months are any indication the next several months promise to be monumental.  Will you and your school be a part of it?  I hope so.
